Pet Laws in RI
Rhode Island as a general Liability Stature like most states. Meaning once damages are proven, victims of dogs bites can claim damages from the pet’s owner.
Dangerous Dog Statute
The state of Rhode island also has some semi-strict policies on dangerous and vicious dogs which are defined by dogs who will attack strangers with no reason or direct instigation by that individual. Owners of these pets may face fees of at to $500 a day if the dog’s behavior is not adapted.
Note: The laws above are the most prominent/notable laws in this state and not a complete list.
