Pet Laws in WI
Dog Bite Statute
Pet owners in Wisconsin will be responsible for all damages when their dog injures or bites a person. The person must be on the owners property when the incident occurs and provoking the dog to attack is the only exception to the rule. The dog owner can use lack of knowledge if he does not know that the dog is vicious to defend their case and limit the actual expense of the damages.
Note: The laws above are the most prominent/notable laws in this state and not a complete list.
